They have many of the same nutrients, but the minerals and nutrients in the soil also contribute to the value of a food. They are still better than a lot of foods, though.

yep – there are nutrients in the water, just like in the soil. The end result is the same when you look at organic hydro vs soil produced veggies and fruits – just a different growing process and medium for the farmer.

Understand that isn’t saying a whole heck of a lot- most of our soil has been depleted of nutrients since the 1920s and 1930s – and even soil grown crops have chemical fertilizers added to them (unless they are organic)
So it is the same story with hydroponics – they have vitamins and minerals added to the water that circulates around their roots.
