Question by Eddie: Help with Hydroponic Grow Light?
I need to buy a grow light for a hydroponic garden and have no clue what I need or what to get. I heard that LED lights were really good ? Also, I am not sure what ballasts and reflectors do. Do you need to buy them separately or can you buy one light that includes everything ? I will probably be growing herbs, tomatoes, lettuce, etc…

Well a ballast is what runs a grow light, 150w grow lights don’t require a starter “ballast” then the reflector is just a light shade, “like the ones in your home”, you should be able to buy a grow light kit which will have the hole shebang, try and but a digital ballast as they’ve got a better start up current which means your grow bulb will last longer, and yeah led grow lights sound great, but i think i’ll wait till them prises drop a little first.

This light does a nice job for under including bulbs. I suggest getting more powerful bulbs to really kick your growing up a notch.
